What is it and why you must get very worried about it.
You must get worried because under the cloak of the NZ government's 2021 55 million dollar "public interest journalism fund" is communist Labour's censorship dagger. The $55M is extra to the 2020 hand out of $50M of taxpayers' money already given to ensure that the media reports only what makes the government look good.
Government Media ReleaseSounds really good, doesn't it? But the terms and conditions of getting any taxpayer money show what it's actually about. The "grassroots public interest journalism fund" is really the governmentsroots self-interest journalism fund.
It's real intent is increased (if not total) "government propaganda" - plain and simple. The public must understand that the fund is a huge threat to democracy in NZ. The fund effectively puts NZ media under government control, just as it is in communist countries like China, North Vietnam and Russia.
Using a cunning and intentionally deceptive name and by setting subversive terms and conditions for getting money from taxpayers, the government will decide what the public is interested in, what issues the public will be informed about and what content the papers, radio and TV can produce for the public.
Your tax money will be used by the government to ensure the NZ media only tells taxpayers what the government wants them to hear.
To start with, the more recent $55M will be given out in small amounts. Media that do as they're told will get more. Media that don't obey government dictates will not.
In the picture below, read the parts high-lighted in red. No longer is it a matter of providing news and opinions and allowing readers to make up their own minds. No. The now totally debased and corrupt NZ media is there to "shape public thought," in the way that the terms and conditions of the government funding dictates.
Read that reflectively, for a moment or two. For Ms Sin head, it's NOT the [progressive] fourth estate's role to accurately and factually report events so that readers can make an informed decision. No. It's to shape (manipulate) public thought. Tell them what to think and where and when to think it. That is just so scary.
Bias and politically-motivated "brain-washing" is the reality of "shaping public thought in NZ."
The sociopathic-communists show how muddle-headed they are when they use the expression, "socialist democratic." Those two words are mutually exclusive.
Because they know that people will recoil from the word communism, the socio-communists intentionally mislead people by using words and phrases which sound good but hide who they are and what they want. Here are some common deceptions:
Those socio-communist labels de-coded / explained:
The only thing socio-communists seek to progress is forcing their views on everyone else.
Expect that censorship-by-media-bribery to also selectivity favour the government in any reporting before the next General Election. Also expect the proposed anti-hate speech legislation to similarly favour the government. Perhaps even to the point that criticising the government will get people arrested? Just like in communist countries.
Anything that's not in the best propaganda interests of the government will be censored, or simply not reported - as if it never happened. That will be achieved willingly by the many pro-communism "useful idiots" journalists in the NZ media. Any ethical journalists will be blackmailed with a simple threat: you report what the government says or you'll get no pay.
This is just another part of the 2021 NZ communist government's plan to kill democracy in New Zealand.
In case you have doubts that those who call themselves socialists are actually communists; remember the USSR? The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. The Berlin Wall builders? Built to stop the population fleeing the wonders of communism. Complete with a huge army of Secret Police and no human rights, Russia and it's surrounding states were all communist. Not socialist. It should really have been called USCR - the Union of Soviet Communist Republics.

New journalism fund's first bribes unveiled
The initial list of grants from the government's $55 million Public Interest Journalism Fund has been published - against a backdrop of criticism it could skew reporting on political issues. (Radio NZ Item.)
At a NZ on Air summit in June, NZ on Air's recently appointed Head of Journalism Raewyn Rasch told media representatives they had failed to fully grasp the need for them to be collaborateurs.[French]
Oh? Interesting root word choice. Maybe quisling would be better than collaborateur? (Both words relate to working with enemy occupying forces.)
Minister of Broadcasting Kris Faafoi insisted that the 'grants' would be dispensed at arm's-length from all politicians, saying that the government's broadcasting funding agency NZ On Air has that job. And - guess what? It's board members are appointed by none other than Government Propaganda Minister, Kris Faafoi.
Pull the other leg, Kris! No one believes that for a moment - probably not even you.
The $105M total for this communist government's political propaganda fund is coming from taxpayers' pockets. To actually get their hands on some of the more recent $55M, here are some of the conditions that the media (journalism) must comply with.
Actively promote the principles of Partnership, Participation and Active Protection under Te Tiriti o Waitangi acknowledging Maori as a Te Tiriti partner.
Maori and Iwi journalism is made by Maori about Maori perspectives, issues, and interests prioritising the needs of Maori.
Maori and Iwi journalism creates a space and platform to give voice and representation to Maori, Iwi, hapu and hau kainga; Maori content, language, and perspectives on all issues deemed relevant locally, nationally, and internationally.
This spectrum of reporting is integral to the protection of te ao Maori* under article 2 of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and includes focus areas such as;
- Te reo Maori and tikanga matters
- Historical accounts
- Profile-based reporting
- Tangihanga
- Maori interest
- Report from perspectives including Pacific, Pan-Asian, women, youth, children, persons with disabilities, other ethnic communities
- Hold power (in its various forms) to account. (The government will be excluded, of course)
* Does the expression "te ao Maori" exist in the Treaty of Waitangi?
No!
There is no such phrase in Article 2 of the Treaty of Waitangi.
Neither is there any mention of "participation, partnership and active protection."
All that is just a fantasy; make believe; a part of successive governments' lies, made 10,000 times worse by the 2021 NZ Labour & Green Party communists. From the Treaty . . .
Article Second
The Queen of England confirms and guarantees to the chiefs and the tribes and to all the people of New Zealand, the possession of their lands, dwellings and all their property. But the chiefs of the Confederation of United Tribes and the other chiefs grant to the Queen, the exclusive rights of purchasing such lands as the proprietors thereof may be disposed to sell at such prices as may be agreed upon between them and the person appointed by the Queen to purchase from them.
The approximate translation of "te ao Maori" is Maori world view.
Notice, too, the use of the phrases, "Nu Tirani" and "New Zealand." The word Aotearoa is not found in the Treaty. Same goes for 'tangata whenua' or 'mana whenua.' The Treaty only specifies "tangata Maori."

A part-Maori man's son asks, "dad, what's democracy?"
He replies, "well son, that's when the pakeha work and we get all the benefits of it."
"But dad, aren't the pakeha people unhappy about that?"
"Sure they are, son. But that's called racism."
